A Little Bit Retro, A Lot of Love.
Olivia and James were a wonderfully unexpected last-minute booking. They originally weren’t sure whether they wanted a wedding film at all, but after a change of heart. From our first meeting it was clear we were a great match—same sense of humour, same relaxed vibe, and a shared love for a blend of modern and nostalgic aesthetics. Their choice of a digital and camcorder mix suited them beautifully.
Their wedding took place at the stunning Willow Marsh Farm in Loughborough. It was my first time filming there, and I was genuinely impressed: the venue is warm, inviting, and full of soft natural light, with a team who couldn’t have been lovelier. Even with the unpredictable weather—including a brief but dramatic apocalyptic downpour right after confetti!—the day felt incredibly cosy. With everyone gathered indoors and the fire burning, it created the most intimate atmosphere.

One thing that truly stood out was how calm Olivia and James were from the very beginning. The morning unfolded seamlessly; hair by Jade Steane and Char Lockley and beauty by Make-up by Millie ran perfectly on time, leaving no frantic rushing—just laughter, music, and beautiful moments to capture. Olivia and her bridesmaids walked down the aisle to the gorgeous singing of vocals by Lydia, setting the tone for the ceremony. These two were all smiles and sharing little jokes throughout, even during their vows, and it was lovely to witness.
I’ll admit it—I cried during the speeches. I always do, but this time it was especially hard not to. The toasts ran slightly later than planned, which meant we missed the golden hour glow, but we still managed to sneak outside as the sun dipped behind the horizon for some dreamy couple moments.
As evening settled in, they danced the night away to an Entertainment Nation band and fuelled up with delicious pizza.
This wedding was a true highlight of my year—warm, fun, heartfelt—and the camcorder moments might just be some of my favourite footage I’ve captured so far.
