Natasha + Ben

Black tie wedding at Ivy lodge, cirencester.

When Natasha and Ben first got in touch, they described their wedding as “A black tie celebration, hopefully with some sun, a Welsh male voice choir and lots of music and cocktails!” the words Welsh male voice choir had me intrigued straight away. Having a Welsh grandmother, I’ve always loved Wales and the accent that reminds me of her.

I was kindly recommended by the lovely Jamie Dunn Photo(always a dream to work with), and after a quick call with Natasha and Ben, I knew I wanted this one. They were clearly very in love, fun (we laughed a lot), and the way they described their day — “music, dancing, cocktails” sounded exactly like the kind of wedding I wanted to film.

They booked my 10-hour package: a mix of digital footage and some retro vibes with my vintage Hi8 camcorder, plus the mini guest cam add-on. I love this combo, modern moments alongside a warm, nostalgic throwback vibe. The guest cam is always chaos in the best way, filmed by the guests I take clips and sprinkle them into the main film, and couples also get a separate edit with the full video guest book messages (always hilarious, sometimes emotional, occasionally both after a few cocktails).

The venue was Ivy Lodge Park in Cirencester, newly refurbished, stunning ceremony room, big courtyard, and some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had. The staff were absolutely brilliant too, so helpful and kind, even looking out for some of the older choir members struggling in the heat.

Ah yes, the heat. Their wish for sunshine definitely came true… 35 degrees of it! At times, I think there was more water flowing than champagne, and after the ceremony I looked like I’d been for a run. They made their exit in the groom’s father’s beautiful vintage car, we grabbed a few shots before retreating into the shade, then waited for sunset/golden hour to capture more couple footage when it was (just about) cool enough to move again.

The dance floor was one of the wildest I’ve seen, Tux Fizz’s were brilliant. The makeup by Amy Rose Make Up was still flawless even after hours of sweat (seriously impressive), and the flowers by Go Wild Flowers filled every corner with colour and beauty.

Huge thanks to Natasha and Ben for being so much fun to film, and to all their family and friends for making the day unforgettable. And of course, a big shout-out to Jamie Dunn for sending me their way, always a pleasure working with you, and I can’t wait to do it all again soon.
